IN THE SHOP: Introducing the Olmsted Matte
THE OLMSTED MATTE

Less is more. Introducing the Olmsted Matte: the classic 38mm field watch you know and love, now with a non-reflective, durable ceramic coating that helps it fly under the radar.

In a nod to simplicity and symmetry, we’ve modified the Swiss made ETA 2892 movement and removed the date function for a super clean look. And no, there’s no phantom date jump or crown position! We do things right. The Olmsted Matte is our very first publicly available time-only watch. Our iconic full-numeral sandwich dial with orange-accented cardinal minute indicators just got that much cleaner. Who knew a simple
“6” could bring so much to the table?

Each and every Matte Series watch is individually coated in small batches right here in the United States. After the coating is complete, each watch is hand-assembled, tested and regulated at our Chicago headquarters by our in-house watchmaker and Director of Watchmaking. We’re very proud to continue the tradition of watchmaking here in the US and are dedicated to preserving the art, craft and mad science that is horology.

You should be just as proud to wear your watch as we are to produce them. Presented on a handmade Horween leather strap with matching ceramic coated hardware, the Olmsted Matte is a perfect daily wearer. The patina developed over time will be specific to you, the Owner, and a one of a kind reminder of all your adventures!

We're doing it the right way, not the easy way. All of those extra steps mean that the this is a
limited production piece. Not limited edition—we won't be cutting these off at a specific serial—but we just can't crank 'em out the way we'd like for regular production. So if you want one of the original 99 pieces (I always keep serial #18 for myself), order now before our first batch runs out otherwise you’ll have to wait for the next series!
