Panda perfection

The Atwood is a 39mm, manually wound, flyback chronograph with a blued column wheel, 58-hour power reserve and a classic tri-compax design. Coming in at only 12.9mm to the top of the double domed crystal, the Atwood is also our slimmest chronograph to date. The newest addition to Oak & Oscar’s Signature Collection features our quintessential sandwich dial and a wrapped tachymeter scale along the rehaut that goes to 54 units.

Chicago is well known as a gem of architecture both modern and historical. The Atwood chronograph is inspired by the ingenuity and vision of Charles Atwood, a 19th century architect brought in to help Daniel Burnham complete designs for the structures that would host the famed 1893 Columbian Exposition. Among other Chicago-area buildings, Atwood is responsible for the design of the Fine Arts Building, now known as the Museum of Science and Industry. Atwood’s inspiration influences our new chronograph’s distinctive design but situates it in a lineage that connects it with our very first watch, the Burnham.

Details Make the Design

The Atwood is Oak & Oscar’s first tri-compax dial design. The three register layout allows you to time anything up to 12 hours long. Whether you opt for the traditional panda dial or the navy or grey reverse panda colorways, our signature use of high contrast, bold colors ensures your watch will stand out from the crowd. Each variant of the Atwood features our signature orange chronograph second hand with barrel-shaped counterbalance as well as subtle hints of orange on the subdials to maximize legibility. The Atwood also includes a charming wrapped tachymeter scale along the rehaut that goes to 54 units.

Flyback Action

The Atwood’s classic pump pushers provide sharp flyback functionality. This means you can start the chronograph and reset it at any time. The flyback function allows you to time events more precisely which, after all, is what a chronograph is all about.

Blued Column Wheel

The Atwood features a handsome blued column wheel. The column wheel not only affords you crisp pusher action but it’s also a beautiful piece of horological machinery that you’ll never get tired of looking at through the display caseback.

The perfect fit

The Atwood is the first Oak & Oscar chronograph to be offered on our precision-designed steel bracelet. The bracelet features fully articulated links and tapers from the 20mm solid end links to the 16mm, on-the-fly, quick-adjust clasp.

A perfect complement to any watch

Our nylon straps are made of a tightly-woven, rugged yet soft nylon material that is purpose made for adventure through the roughest of conditions. With custom orange stitching, the nylon strap is perfectly suited for life’s adventures and is included with every Atwood.

Form and function

The Atwood features a capable 50ATM of water resistance, scratch-resistant sapphire crystals front and back, and, like all Oak & Oscar timepieces, drilled lugs for easy strap changes.

Sandwich dial goodness

A quintessential feature of Oak & Oscar’s design language, the Atwood features all the sandwich dial goodness you can handle. This watch is especially unique in that the subdials themselves are sunk into the lower layer of the “sandwich.” This design gives the watch an added bit of dimension and is just one of the ways the watch reflects the architectural designs of Charles Atwood himself.

Packaging with Purpose

The Atwood is presented in a carefully designed canvas watch wallet with leather accents, two gusseted suede watch pockets, and a zippered closure. Ideal for storing watches and accessories at home or while on the go. And of course, it’s designed right here in Chicago.

The Movement

The Atwood is powered by the innovative AMT5100M caliber, a product of Sellita’s bespoke AMT Manufacture division—a high-end experimental group like Mercedes’ AMG or BMW’s M program. The AMT5100M is a manually-wound column wheel, flyback chronograph caliber with a robust 58-hour power reserve and 23 jewels.
