We hand pick every hide at the Horween Leather Company, one of the oldest tanneries in the country and right here in Chicago. Then a local leather artisan cuts, finishes and hand-sews each strap. Wear one for a few months and it takes on a patina that's all yours.
Horween has been tanning leather in Chicago for more than a hundred years. We go to the source and pick hides by hand, looking for even color and a tight, consistent grain.
Each strap is cut, its edges beveled, burnished and dyed, then hand-sewn one stitch at a time. It takes a while, and you can feel the difference the first time you buckle one on.
Every strap is 20mm at the lugs and tapers to an 18mm stainless steel buckle. The buckle is signed on top and bottom, with a groove underneath so the strap sits flush and comfortable on your wrist.
Perforations inspired by the seats and steering wheels of classic rally cars, plus a little extra breathability on warm days. A natural fit for a chronograph like the Atwood, and great on just about anything else.
Made for the Atwood, Olmsted and Humboldt, and just as good on any other watch with 20mm lugs.
