INTRODUCING: The Humboldt GMT SAR Edition

Since the beginning, Oak & Oscar has produced watches that are made to be worn. We don’t make watches to sit in a display case. The entire Oak & Oscar lineup is built to discover

We’re proud to introduce what may be our most adventure-ready watch yet: the Humboldt GMT SAR Edition!

This limited edition version of our signature Humboldt GMT features a 39.5mm titanium case (40.0mm bezel), ceramic compass bezel insert, bold  blue colorway, and all the anti-magnetic and anti-shock protection you’ve come to expect from the Humboldt GMT.

The rugged and ready-for-anything Humboldt GMT SAR Edition is inspired by the dedicated men and women of the St. Louis County Rescue Squad. This group of volunteers provides invaluable and often lifesaving services to adventure-seekers visiting northern Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) and the entire St. Louis County region.

When we approached the Rescue Squad about producing a special edition watch, we knew we had to make a tool tough enough for the job. The St. Louis County Rescue Squad is a group of highly trained volunteers that patrol the vast and beautiful BWCA that consists of over 1,000,000 acres of forests, glacial lakes, and streams. The Rescue Squad responds to calls involving wilderness search and rescue, boat and water safety, first aid, and public safety.

The Rescue Squad needs robust equipment to perform their vital role and utilizes everything from tactical vehicles to watercraft and ropes for swiftwater rescues. Of course, in a rescue mission, time is of the essence, so a precise, capable watch on the wrist is a must. You never know when you’re going to have to check a pulse or use your watch as a compass to find your way home. In fact, learning to use these functions of a watch is an integral part of the Squad’s training.

The Humboldt GMT SAR Edition is equipped for whatever the wilderness throws at you. The titanium case mitigates extreme temperatures and is light on the wrist. The ceramic compass bezel features a generous application of lume so you can find your way out of trouble in even the blackest of nights. The GMT complication allows you to track two time zones. And the anti-shock and anti-magnetic technology protect your watch from impacts and harmful magnetic fields.

The watch is a limited edition of 50 pieces and is presented on our high-quality, orange rubber strap. A portion of the profits from the sale of this watch will be donated to the St. Louis County Rescue Squad.
