INTRODUCING: The Humboldt ExP-02
We are thrilled to announce the second watch in our Experimental Series, the Humboldt ExP-02!
Our Experimental Series of watches allows us to explore different techniques and expand our horological chops. That can mean new metals, heat treatments, unique dial materials — nothing is off limits. For this watch, we put on our put on our mad scientist lab coats, had some fun with lasers, and produced both the dials and bezels right here in our Chicago HQ! The result is sleek, capable tool watch with a refined, monochromatic design that showcases our commitment to in-house craftsmanship.
Using our trusty shop lathe, the chapter rings are cut and milled before being drilled for precise positioning.

The dials are then laser-cut using our newly-acquired 100-watt MOPA fiber laser, with the hour markers, hand holes, and positioning holes all being punched out in the same process.

The dials are then sandblasted and marked with the laser to create a "ghost script" that shines or vanishes depending on the light.
The watches feature fixed steel bezels that are also cut on our shop lathe to a tolerance of just 0.01mm to fit perfectly on the case.

The Humboldt ExP-02 is one of our most ambitious projects yet, marrying traditional machining with cutting edge laser technology to present a model that is unique, yet unmistakably Oak & Oscar. The hands-on production process yields one-of-a-kind pieces with subtly distinct features.
The initial run of the Humboldt ExP-02 is a small batch of just twenty examples. Ten watches are reserved exclusively for existing Owners, and ten watches are reserved for the general public. To be eligible to purchase the Humboldt ExP-02, click here to enter the general lottery.
The lottery closes in one week on February 3rd, so get your entry in ASAP! Cheers, and good luck!
