The Humboldt ExP-02 features a 39.5mm stainless steel case that’s 12.4mm tall and is presented on our signature steel bracelet with fully articulated links and a microadjustable clasp.
But what really sets the ExP-02 apart is the in-house made sandwich dial and fixed bezel.

The second watch in our Experimental Series, the Humboldt ExP-02 gives our most versatile watch a one-of-a-kind makeover.
For this watch, we put on our mad scientist lab coats and set to work with our newly acquired 100 watt MOPA fiber laser and Schaublin 70 lathe to produce both the dials and bezels for this limited production Humboldt.
Using powerful laser pulses, the dials are cut from an aluminum sheet. The minimalist hour markers as well as the hand and position holes are punched in the same process. Each dial is then sandblasted and marked with laser light resulting in a “ghost script” that shines or vanishes depending on the light.
The watches are fitted with stainless steel bezels machined to precise tolerances on our shop lathe.
The result is a sleek, capable tool watch with a refined, monochromatic design that showcases our commitment to in-house craftsmanship.
Our experimental series allows us to test our limits and expand our horological chops. For this limited production release, we produced both the dials and fixed bezels in-house. Our careful, hands-on production process results in a watch that is as singular as the person who wears it.
Each dial is milled and then laser-cut using a 100 watt MOPA fiber laser before being sandblasted by our in-house watchmaker. This process yields truly unique examples with subtle details that set each one apart.
We’re known for our clean designs and thoughtful details. The Humboldt ExP-02 lives up to that reputation. A high-frequency laser is used to cut indices and the numeral ‘12’ into the dial plate. Each dial is then marked with a “ghost script” that shines or vanishes depending on how the angle and light.
The Humboldt ExP-02 is the product of careful engineering and the use of precision instruments. Yet it remains a capable tool watch grounded in real-world wearability. Its compact dimensions, robust water resistance, and thoughtfully engineered bracelet make it a dependable companion.
The engine powering the Humboldt ExP-02 is a Sellita SW300: a legendary, Swiss-made, workhorse calibre with 25 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve, and a custom rotor. This is a true no date movement without a ghost position.
