IN THE NEWS: Worn & Wound Features the Humboldt ExP-02

Our friends at Worn & Wound just published a feature on our newest Experimental Series watch, the Humboldt ExP-02!

We're proud of the in-house craftsmanship that went into making this watch, and we're thrilled that the watch world is taking notice. The idea of "in-house" watchmaking has become something of buzzword lately, but we've got the substance to back it up. As Zach Kazan writes, the words "'in-house' have developed an almost toxic reputation in some circles as they've been used liberally to imply a level of craft or development that is not really there when you strip away all the marketing talk. But a handful of brands are taking it back, using it to designate certain manufacturing processes they've taken ownership of over overseas factories."

Zach adds that the watch "shows off real watchmaking skill and a willingness on the brand's part to experiment with new techniques."

We put in a lot of elbow grease and learned new watchmaking techniques to produce this watch. "Every aspect of the dial manufacturing is done to a very high level in the Oak & Oscar workshop, using new watchmaking equipment that brand has invested in specifically to create unique components for watches like the ExP-02."

Oak & Oscar dedicated to doing things the right way, not the easy way, and we're always looking to learn new techniques to produce the best watches we can. As Zach points out, "Watches like this...reveal a brand that cares a great deal [about the] craft of watchmaking and flexing what they're capable of when possible."

If you'd like a shot at adding one of these unique pieces to your collection, click here to enter the lottery. But act fast! The lottery closes on February 3rd!
