IN THE NEWS: Average Bros Reviews the Atwood Chronograph
Our good friend, Mark, from the Average Bros YouTube channel just published a review of the Atwood chronograph!
If you're not familiar with Average Bros, Mark publishes video reviews of watches and EDC gear "from the perspective of your honest, average everyday Bro." Like and subscribe to his channel for some quality content!
So what did he have to say about the Atwood? Mark gushed over the minimalist aesthetic of our new chronograph. While many chronographs tend to have pretty busy dials, he noted that the Atwood is "slick" and "clean."
Mark highlighted the perfect proportions of the Atwood, emphasizing its thinness compared to other manually wound chronographs. He also pointed out the nice, crisp pusher action that makes the user experience tactilely satisfying.
And, of course, who could forget that beautiful movement inside!? The blued column wheel really sets the Atwood apart, and that didn't go unnoticed. As he noted, this level of detail and finishing is typically found in much more expensive watches.
If you're wondering how the Atwood stacks up against the competition, Mark addressed that, too. While it's true that the Atwood shares space with offerings from both other independent brands as well as some more mainstream offerings, Mark stated that there's a "certain X factor" to the Atwood that makes it stand out from the crowd.
One thing that particularly noteworthy in Mark's review is how much attention he paid to the details. He pointed out our strategic use of lume, the tool-less micro-adjustment mechanism in the clasp, and the high contrast colors on the dial. As he put it, "the design combined with the level of execution is always very very impressive when it comes to Oak & Oscar." We put a lot of effort into getting the little things right, so thanks for noticing!
To close things out, Mark said that "the Atwood is...a handsome, distilled take on the classic panda dial chronograph with an aesthetic that beautifully straddles both vintage and contemporary design cues built to a tolerance and execution that clearly reads as a functional tool watch."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves! Thanks for the review, Mark! Be sure to check out the full review on the Average Bros YouTube channel.
