Well Worth It
The canvas strap is stiffer then I expected and ever time I put it on I want it to be as supple at the leather strap. However, once I have it on it just molds to my wrist, is very comfortable, and my focus shifts to how good this looks. The strap is more expensive compared to other canvas straps but the quality and craftsmanship are immediately noticeable. The thickness, taper, and buckle of the strap matches the leather strap which is perfect and helps drive the consistency of the Oak and Oscar brand. I’m confident that Oak and Oscar has put this though an extensive durability test and I expect this to withstand everything I can throw at it for a very long time. The Burgundy complements the grey dial Olmstead beautifully adding the right amount of pop. In some light it looks a bit more orange, other times it’s a bit more red or purple. It really is perfect with the grey dial! This strap is great for just about any occasion from jeans and T-shirt days to business casual. I’d even be tempted to match it to a suit and tie. I’m very curious how it ages and patinas. I’m guessing it will probably get a bit faded like a well worn pair of Carhartt canvas work pants and I’m excited to watch that happen. I am very happy with this strap and would highly recommend the O&O canvas straps as a wonderful complement to any watch, especially the grey dials! Apologies for the sub-par photos but hopefully it shows the strap in a real world setting rather than a studio glamor shot.
