The Olmsted 38 is a classic, automatic winding, 38mm field watch with a two-layer sandwich dial, 10 ATM (100m / 330ft), screw-down crown, and inner minute track with orange cardinal numeral accents.

The Olmsted 38 takes its namesake from conservationist and founder of landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted – an avid believer in the need of natural public space in society. Olmsted is responsible for designing many of the public parks in the United States; notably, Central Park in New York City, and Jackson Park in Chicago. Throughout a fascinating life, Olmsted pushed for the protection of Yosemite Valley, created the parkway, the integrated park system, and founded the precursor to the Red Cross.

The engine powering The Olmsted 38 is the legendary, Swiss-made, ETA 2892A2, a workhorse calibre with 21 jewels, a substantial 42-hour power reserve, and our iconic 4-star rotor design – a subtle nod to our hometown of Chicago.

We’re proud of our Horween leather straps and the craftsmanship that goes into them. From the hand-beveled edges with applied water-based dye to the hidden orange stitching on the floating keeper, our leather strap tapers from 20mm to 18mm at the buckle for a comfortable fit.

Our stainless steel bracelet sits comfortably on the wrist with a fully articulated link design that gradually tapers from the 20mm solid end links to the 16mm buckle.

The bracelet has 7 removable links and 5 micro-adjustments on the locking clasp. The bracelet will fit wrists from 6.2 inches to 9.1 inches (158mm - 231mm).

    Exceeded all expectations

Unbelievable. My Navy Olmstead arrived in Toronto within 2 days of ordering. Opened the very unique case to find my beautiful watch running with the time and date kindly set and a lovely note from the founder. I had a dumb question for customer support the following day. It was promptly and thoughtfully answered along with a follow-up email to make sure everything was fine. Beat that. I am going to buy another one. Chris C.

My new favorite watch! And customer service that goes above and beyond.

The watch and box come with all the tools you need to adjust and modify the bands! But be careful - I accidentally launched a pin across the room and lost it. Found a replacement on Amazon and got it fixed the next day! No big deal.

But because I was annoyed at my own mistake, I reached out to customer service (expecting a generic response) and Chase, the founder of the company, was kind enough to respond in person. That level of customer service tells me that this is a company that actually cares. This watch will last for years, but my next watch will definitely be an O&O.

    Awesome!

I’m at the honeymoon phase for the watch so I’ve had it on since I received it. Out of all the watch companies that I’ve dealt with, Chase and his team is at the top of my list. I was eyeing a Black Bay 58 Blue but had enough trying to communicate with ADs. What led me to buy was the fast email response from Chase. After answering my questions I immediately bought it. He even had it shipped the same day! I’m so impressed with the level of customer service.

I think that this watch will have similar accuracy as my triumph once the movement breaks in. I love this watch because it has a great movement, great built quality of the case and bracelet, the sandwich dial has the awesome font for the numbers, and it’s unassuming from a far. I was worried about the legibility of the numbers in low lighting but I was happily surprised.

I would love to see an adjustable clasp in the future. Not a deal breaker for me. It actually feels more secure than the adjustable clasp on my triumph. If you’re thinking about buying an Olmsted, just do it.

    Great Product!

This watch is really beautiful and wears like quality. I really enjoy the movement of the seconds and the display in the back and front of the watch. My only gripe is the bracelet, I wish it didn't space out the way it does when wearing it. But otherwise, I can always change bracelets if I really cared that much.

Hi Dev! Glad you're enjoying your Olmsted! As for the bracelet, it was designed so that it would curve comfortably around your wrist and also -not- snag your arm hairs! Let me know if you have any other concerns—always happy to listen and learn! - Chase, Founder
