In The News: Oak & Oscar Welcomes Our New Director of Watchmaking!

2020 has been a wild year, but you know what’s awesome? Today, we’re introducing Oak & Oscar’s newest team member and in-house watchmaking expert, Nathan Bobinchak!

Nathan is a classically-trained watchmaker who gave up a life of screens for a life of screws. With official certification from the Swiss American Watchmakers Training Alliance at the Lititz Watch Technicum in Pennsylvania, Nathan has put his skills to work as a bench watchmaker at Betteridge Jewelers in Connecticut and as a watchmaking instructor for the Horological Society of New York. As a native Detroiter who spent years honing his trade along the East Coast, he’s excited to bring the art of watchmaking back home to the Midwest.

In addition to handling the service of all Oak & Oscar timepieces, Nathan will begin assembling future watch releases in our Chicago headquarters. We’re very excited to have our watches assembled stateside and look forward to sharing more of the process!

Nathan brings a unique, mechanically driven perspective on the technical design and manufacturing of our timepieces. His attention to detail, understanding of micro-mechanics and how watches are made will be instrumental in our continued growth as an independent watch brand.
We’re absolutely honored to have him onboard and look forward to introducing him to everyone!

Say hello at our next virtual happy hour!
Wednesday, 10/7 at 6pm CT
Join Chase and Nathan for a cold drink and a nice chat. We’ll learn about Nathan’s background as a watchmaker, his love of all things mechanical, and why he always prefers a stick shift.
