Atwood Production Update #01
First things first, and as always, thank you. Thank you for the overwhelmingly positive response to the launch of the Atwood. I am unbelievably grateful to each and everyone one of you.
Second, and as promised, a reminder that we will send out periodic updates via email about the production of the Atwood. This production blog, or the Atwood Production Updates Archive, as we’re calling it, is a great way for us to stay in touch and keep you informed on the progress of your Atwood. We’ll share information and photos that the public hasn’t had a chance to see yet and try to give you additional insight into the process.
I absolutely love chronographs—the design appeal, the functionality, the history, the coolness. It’s all there for me. The Jackson, our first chronograph, was a limited edition first released back in 2017 that sold out very shortly thereafter. We released the Jackson Big Eye a couple of years later, using the same movement and case but with a charmingly asymmetrical dial, and it sold out in minutes. I cannot tell you the number of times folks have asked us, “So…when are you going to release another chronograph??”
Little did folks know that a new chrono was already in the works. For years we’ve been thinking about how to build upon the success of the Jackson and make an entirely new watch using all the lessons we’ve learned and experience we’ve gained. Thus, the Atwood. I’m overwhelmingly in love with the Atwood and cannot wait for you to receive yours. It ticks all the boxes for me.
Ok, now for the first update. We have all the movements at our Swiss facility and are checking each one to make sure they are functioning properly, timing is accurate and all is good to go! Honestly, getting the movements and tuning them up is one of the hardest parts of this entire process. We ordered these movements more than a year ago so we’re very glad to have finally accepted delivery!
We’re still on track to begin deliveries in late summer. Due to the complexity of the Atwood we expect to deliver watches in batches based on order number. We will go as quickly as absolutely possible but everyone’s patience will be much appreciated. We’re all about quality here and don’t want to rush things.
Ok, that’s all for now! Thanks again for your support and trust—it is truly appreciated.
Have a great one!
