The Olmsted 38 is a classic, automatic winding, 38mm field watch with a two-layer sandwich dial, 10 ATM (100m / 330ft), screw-down crown, and inner minute track with orange cardinal numeral accents.

The Olmsted 38 takes its namesake from conservationist and founder of landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted – an avid believer in the need of natural public space in society. Olmsted is responsible for designing many of the public parks in the United States; notably, Central Park in New York City, and Jackson Park in Chicago. Throughout a fascinating life, Olmsted pushed for the protection of Yosemite Valley, created the parkway, the integrated park system, and founded the precursor to the Red Cross.

The engine powering The Olmsted 38 is the legendary, Swiss-made, ETA 2892A2, a workhorse calibre with 21 jewels, a substantial 42-hour power reserve, and our iconic 4-star rotor design – a subtle nod to our hometown of Chicago.

We’re proud of our Horween leather straps and the craftsmanship that goes into them. From the hand-beveled edges with applied water-based dye to the hidden orange stitching on the floating keeper, our leather strap tapers from 20mm to 18mm at the buckle for a comfortable fit.

Our stainless steel bracelet sits comfortably on the wrist with a fully articulated link design that gradually tapers from the 20mm solid end links to the 16mm buckle.

The bracelet has 7 removable links and 5 micro-adjustments on the locking clasp. The bracelet will fit wrists from 6.2 inches to 9.1 inches (158mm - 231mm).

    Satisfied 70 year old customer

I am very pleased with my new watch. I had wanted to purchase a watch I could wear everyday and looked and read about different watches for about two or three months and finally landed on the Olmsted. I have a skinny wrist (about 6 1/2”) and wanted a watch that would fit me and not look like some big round alarm clock. It fits perfectly and, with the leather band , is so comfortable I hardly notice it’s on my wrist. I also wanted a watch that was simple and yet with enough small details to give it enough character for other people to notice it and they do. The face of the watch is just how I thought it would look and I’ve had several compliments. As far as efficiency goes, it gains about two seconds a day and that’s way better than what I expected. The only complaint I have, and it’s a small one, is the luminous fades quickly on the hands when you come inside and you don’t see it at all at the numbers, but that’s not what I bought it for so for me it’s no problem. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely! It’s a really good looking watch and I am extreme pleased with it.

    Perfect jeans and sneakers watch

I love contrast....Olmstead on black sail cloth with white stitching. Standout sandwich dial, splash of orange, boatload of simplicity.

    I love this watch

The fix & finish are top notch. The bracelet is great, the lume is outstanding. Other Oak & Oscar winner!

The style of all my other watches have indices (and most have some form of bezels) - this is my first watch in 15 years with a numeric face. I just can't get over how great it looks. This one just drew me and I love it. Huge fan of the design.

    Wonderful Watch

This is a wonderful addition to any collection. Beautiful daily wear with thoughtful additions. The owner of Oak and Oscar is also wonderful! Added a very nice note with my watch which is an indication of the high quality customer service associated with the brand.

    Exceeded all expectations

Unbelievable. My Navy Olmstead arrived in Toronto within 2 days of ordering. Opened the very unique case to find my beautiful watch running with the time and date kindly set and a lovely note from the founder. I had a dumb question for customer support the following day. It was promptly and thoughtfully answered along with a follow-up email to make sure everything was fine. Beat that. I am going to buy another one. Chris C.
