IN THE NEWS: WatchCrunch Shouts Out Oak & Oscar

WatchCrunch, self-described by WatchCrunch co-founder Max as a “cage-free, organic farm where watch nerds can happily roam”, posted a YouTube video titled, “These 2 Microbrands are Killing it !!”.

Spoiler alert: Oak & Oscar’s Humboldt GMT was included as the representative for our Chicago-based independent watchmaker.

“The Oak & Oscar Humboldt GMT has ‘The Gentleman Adventurer’ written all over it,” Max said to start his review.

He first noted the aesthetics — starting with the matte-finished navy blue sandwich dial that “gives a great visual depth.” Max’s Humboldt GMT was paired with a top grain leather strap from Windup Watch Shop

By the way, we've got a few watch straps in our shop: browse our selection of locally made leather watch straps that compliment our watches perfectly.

Of course, a great watch is only as great as its movement.

Max didn’t forget to mention the Sellita SW330 Swiss 4hz GMT movement, with 56 hours of power reserve sitting inside of an anti-magnetic enclosure with anti-shock rubber bumpers.

Oak & Oscar is thrilled to be included in this review alongside the Formex Reef

In comparison, Max says the two watches make up a great two-watch microbrand collection:

“Oak & Oscar might be a great everyday watch that you wear to the office, and the Formex might be something you put on for the weekend adventure.”
