IN THE NEWS: WatchTime Reviews the Atwood!

The Atwood has received some great press since it's release this past May, both from the media and from bonafide Owners. And the press train keeps on rolling!

In his latest review for WatchTime, the renowned Martin Green put in some quality wrist time with Oak & Oscar's new chronograph. Green identifies a key aspect of what we strive to do here at Oak & Oscar, namely, develop a distinctive design language and put out a quality product:

"While Oak & Oscar has barely existed for a decade, they are an established player in the North American watch scene. One of the main reasons for that is consistent performance. They knew who they were and what they wanted to express with their watches from the beginning, and that resulted in a strong DNA chain that goes through their entire collection."

Green raves about the Atwood's unique, sandwich dial design. "The most fascinating detail, at least to me, is that the Atwood has a sandwich dial. This is cleverly hidden in the design but shows its worth when it gets dark."

At the end of the day, Oak & Oscar is all about the details: clean designs, perfect proportions, and high quality materials. Those details don't go unnoticed by Green. "The watch is well proportioned, also in thickness. It has a bit of heft but doesn't go overboard there, making it a pleasant sports watch to wear." Green also comments on the "pleasant click" of the pushers that operate the flyback chronograph.

We went above and beyond to make the Atwood our most wearable and technically capable chronograph yet. And our choice of movement had a lot to do with that. The Sellita AMT5100M is a high performance, flyback chronograph movement with a beautiful blued column wheel that's visible through the watch's sapphire caseback. Green pays special attention to this aspect of the Atwood. "Oak & Oscar could have cut corners when it came to the movement, but fortunately, they did more of the opposite."

Thanks for noticing all of the little details, Martin, and thanks for such a stellar review!
